                           Present tense

A. Form of the verbe be

     I               am

     You         are

     They      are

     We         are

     He          is 

     She        is

     It            is

B. Usage. 

What is verbe be? 

Verb be ia a linking verb, and it is connects  the subject to a noun, adjective, preposition, adverb of place and time that discribes or indentifies  it. They are also called ' equative or " Copular" Sentences. The verb be is often used in Nominal sentences. 

What is  a nominal sentence

A nominal sentence is a sentence where the predicate is not a verb —

It's usually a noun, adjective, or prepositional phrase. Adverb of 0lace.and time.

C. In affirmative statement with noun

     Subject +  be + noun + adverb. 

I am a teacher. 

Saya seorang guru. 

You are a lawyer. 

Kamu seorang seorang pengacara. 

She ia a secretary. 

Dia seorang pengacara. 

D. Subject + be + aadjective

She is beautiful

 Iam jealuose

They are clever

C. With preposition

     Subject + be + preposion

Subject + be + prepositon 

He is from bogor

The book is on tge table

The cat is under the chair

E.  With adverb if place/ time

     Subject + be + adverb of place/ time

I am in jakarta

He is at the office

My motger is at home

It is 7 o'clock

1 am 16 years old

The meeting was at 3 p.m.

"The baby is 6 months old.": 

 Bayi itu berumur 6 bulan

B. In negative statement. 

     Put not after be

    ( Subject + be + not + noun/ adjective,

      prepotion, sdverb ) 

I am not a teacher

C in interrogative statement. 

    Put be before subject

    ( Be + subject + noun) 

Are you a teacher? 

Is she your sister? 

Are you angry with me? 

Is she your wife? 

Is your father in jakarta?
