A. What is Passive Voice? 

Passive voice is a sentence form where the subject receives the action. The focus is on the process or result, not on who does the action. Passive voice is often used in survey and mapping reports because the process is more important than the actor.

Passive voice adalah bentuk kalimat di mana subjek menerima tindakan. Fokusnya pada proses atau hasil pekerjaan, bukan pada siapa yang melakukan. Dalam survey dan pemetaan, passive voice sering digunakan dalam laporan teknis.

B. Examples of Passive Voice.

1. Present Tense (Simple Present Passive):
     Subject  + am / is / are + V3

1. The map is created using GIS software.
     Peta dibuat menggunakan perangkat lunak
      GIS.)

2. The area is measured by the surveyor.
     Area diukur oleh surveyor.

3. Coordinates are recorded carefully.
     Koordinat dicatat dengan teliti.

4. The data is collected in the field.
     Data dikumpulkan di lapangan.

5. Boundary lines are marked on the map.
    Garis batas ditandai pada peta.

2. Past Tense (passive voice)  
     Subject  + was / were + V3

1. The land was surveyed yesterday.
     Tanah disurvei kemarin.

2. The map was printed last week.
     Peta dicetak minggu lalu.

3. GPS data were collected in the field.
     Data GPS dikumpulkan di lapangan.

4. The measurements were checked by the 
      team.
      Pengukuran diperiksa oleh tim.)
5. The report was completed on time.
     Laporan diselesaikan tepat waktu.

3. Future Tense ( Passive)Rumus: 
     Subject  + will be + V3

1. The area will be mapped tomorrow.
    Area akan dipetakan besok.

2. The data will be analyzed using software.
     Data akan dianalisis menggunakan
      perangkat lunak. 

3. The map will be submitted to the office.
      Peta akan diserahkan ke kantor.

4. Control points will be measured again.
     Titik kontrol akan diukur kembali.

5. The report will be revised soon.
      Laporan akan direvisi segera.

4. Perfect Tense (Perfect Passive)
    Subject + has / have been + V3

1. The land has been surveyed accurately.
    Tanah telah disurvei dengan akurat.

2. The map has been updated recently.
      Peta telah diperbarui baru-baru ini.

3. The coordinates have been recorded
      properly.
      Koordinat telah dicatat dengan benar.

4..The data has been processed by the system.
      Data telah diproses oleh sistem.

5. All measurements have been verified.
     Semua pengukuran telah diverifikasi.
